The Creeps

creepsThis is a tower defense game with a twist. Instead of your usual towers, castles or fortresses that need to be guarded, you have a small child on its bed, that represents the tower in this case. You are supposed to defend the child from several monsters and boogie men that are trying to give it nightmares. One other twist are the obstacles on your weapons placement. usually in a tower defense game you can place your weapon almost everywhere as long as it is on your enemies path.  But here that is not possible. There are several places that are not a good choice for your weapons placement. Your enemies are the Creeps that live in your closet and they are coming to get you! Defend yourself with toy blasters, glue bottles, flashlights and boomerangs. Summon a giant spider to slow your enemies, or a UFO to sap their energy! Slick the path with oil to make the Creeps slide fast down hill and climb slowly up hill. Or command a tornado to pick the Creeps up and carry them along the path in any direction! You can control tower positions by tapping on an open space and then selecting which tower to place. Once placed towers will attack enemies once they are in range, or you can select enemies or other objects to manually target them. Upgrades can be purchased by tapping on a tower and hitting the upgrade button. If you’ve played tower defense games before, you’ll be familiar with the controls. The hand drawn cartoon visuals look great, and there is a surprising amount of different enemy appearances which helps to vary up the gameplay. The sound effects are amusing and make up for the game’s lack of music. But if players really want music, they can use their iPod with no loss of game sound effects.  All in all this is an interesting game with a lot of new stuff, which promises to give you a great time.
