Reiner Kinizia’s Knights Of Charlemagne

knightsofcharlemagne11

Welcome to Knights of Charlemagne; one of Reiner Knizia’s classic board games now available for the iPhone and iPod touch! The rules are simple; turn by turn you must choose to deploy your Knights to one of ten Estates on the board. But not all Estates are worth the same! Can you make the right moves and lead your Knights to victory?  First a little education, who is Charlemagne in the first place? -Well he was the king of francs, but before you get scared let me tell you that this isn’t one of those knowledge testing games, but quite the contrary, you don’t need to know history at all to play this game. All you have to know is that this game is based on a current card game. Enough about this, lets get back to the rules, like I already said the board is set with ten estates, five of them being colorless and numbered from 1 to 5 while the other five of them having their own distinctive color. You get 24 random cards, from which only 8 can be seen, each card contains its number and color, your job is to place the knight on its respective estate, containing the same number or color, if you have more knights on one estate than your opponent then you can put claim on the estate, from each two claimed estates you win a gold crown that is worth 5 points, the numerical estates worth as much as their numerical value, while the colored estates are worth 5 points each, and when all cards are down then you summarize the points and see who has won.  It may look a bit dull, but i promise you this game can became a quite addictive experience for you and your friends.
