Extreme Road Trip

extreme-road-tripExtreme Road Trip may not technically break any new ground, but there’s something wonderfully addictive about the familiar physics-based fun of Road Trip that makes it impossible to put down.Seated behind the wheel of a car with a stuck gas pedal, players will try to travel as far as they can before their tank runs out of gas, or worse yet, they crash.Like most off-road adventures, the path is filled with peaks and valleys that will send your car hurtling into the sky.You’ll need to keep your wheels aligned with the ground if you want to make a safe landing – but there’s always room to try and pull of a few tricks on your way to the ground, too.The aim is to cover as much distance as possible.You can earn temporary boosts by performing tricks and landing sweet jumps.When you land after a jump, you receive a rating of sloppy, good, great or perfect.The better the landing, the more boost you receive.On the other hand, if your landing is particularly bad, your car will instantly explode.Control-wise, all you have to do is use the on-screen arrows to tilt your car left and right in mid-air.That’s it.When you earn boost, it’s applied automatically; otherwise, your car maintains a uniform speed.By default there’s just the one car, but five more are available.One in particular can be unlocked by using a ballsy in-app interface to ‘like’ the game on Facebook.All you have to do is enter your email address and password Ahem.The music is an original 8-bit score by Magnus Pålsson, the composer behind Terry Cavanaugh’s brilliant.

Features:
* Extremely addictive gameplay
* Huge gratifying explosions
* Ear wormy music that will not exit your head
* Flips, wheelies and extreme aerial stunts
* A choice between six unique cars with different properties
* Game Center Achievements and Leaderboards
* Universal (great on any iOS device)

I Luv Chocolate

i-luv-chocolatChocolate is great, isn’t it?Zatun Games seems to have run with this premise on its newest game, I Luv Chocolate for Ipod Touch and Iphone.The game and its premise is simple and that’s one of the biggest selling points.The premise is that you broke into a chocolate factory and you’re trying to eat as much candy as possible without getting caught by the guards.The game’s execution equally simple.With seven levels and 30 different candies raining from the sky,all you need to do is catch enough candy to equal the point goal of the level while making sure not to touch the security guards or grabbing any of the items that also make you lose time.It’s simple but that’s part of the reason that it’s fun.There is a bit of challenge with making sure you don’t catch things that make you lose time while you’re jumping.There is some challenge with jumping to stun and get around the security guards.The challenge is part of the fun, because if it was as easy as it sounds, the game would’ve been too easy for anyone.That’s where the accessibility is.Sure, it’s designed for players ages 5-12, however, it’s marketed to pretty much anyone who loves chocolate.It throws enough material out there to have some challenge due to obstacles and timing.It keeps things easy enough so that younger gamers wouldn’t run into a lot of problems trying to play the game.Making a game that accessible is a challenge but Zatun Games managed to pull it off.

Real Racing 2

real-racing-2Rare is a game like Real Racing 2 where not one major feature is lacking, not one element is out of balance, not one piece doesn’t contribute to a sense of fun.Real Racing 2 maintains a fine balance between accuracy and accessibility, ensuring that you feel the difference between the game’s 29 licensed vehicles without being overwhelmed by rigid simulation mechanics.While Real Racing 2 is not exacting in its approach, skill is essential for success. Drifting through turns, for example, is discouraged because it reduces your vehicle’s speed.While more cash and reputation points reward first place wins, the game’s level of difficulty is such that you can complete events and advance your career without having to maintain a perfect racing line.When you start out in Real Racing 2, you’ll go gear first into the game’s shop, buying a lower grade vehicle and moving on through a series of events. As you progress, you’ll gain access to new parts (to upgrade your vehicle’s performance), tracks and cars, widening your racing experience. That isn’t to say you’re going to be too limited at first, as you can still go through Quick Race events to get a hang for the game, and hop into multiplayer for 8-player local Wi-Fi races or 16-player online events. Both work remarkably well, and will keep you doing laps well into the night, provided your online connection is strong enough.Real Racing 2 continues the trend of Firemint’s superb presentation style. This game looks just as good as the original, if not better, thanks to superb car detail, an in-car cockpit view that’s right up there with the ones presented in Gran Turismo 5 and Need For Speed: Shift (seriously, it’s amazing), and a variety of tracks that look great, both day and night. There are only 15 tracks, but there’s so many ways to race them that it feels like more. The cinemas are equally impressive, similar to what you might see in either of the above racing games, with dramatic cutaways and detailed replay angles. There’s no doubt about it, Real Racing 2 is a phenomenal game from a fabulous development studio.

Guitar Toolkit

guitar-toolkit-chord-library2

Ever wanted to learn some new cord on your guitar but just couldn’t find the time or the means to do that? Well now you have the Guitar Toolkit for iphone, one of the most interesting apps out there, this application comes with its own: Tuner, Metronome, Chord Finder, Scale Finder, and many more options. The Tuner is one of the most used parts of this unusual app, even though the space around you has to be relatively quiet you can still tune your instrument the first time every time, and on every place. Next, the Metronome works like any other metronome but the plus is that this one features a rather impressive time signature list. There is nothing more we can say about the Chord Finder, except that it contains every single chord that you can think of, the Scale Finder has a pretty impressive list with well over 100 scales, and if that isn’t enough for you then just wait a while this app is being updated and you will get your wish. Another plus for this app is that it even has an option for the left handed people, something that many other similar apps neglect very often. All in all this app can really come in handy whether you are a beginner or a professional.
